Welcome to a new episode of “SongSessions”. I’m your host, David Pomeranz and I love doing this show because this is where I get to sit down and talk shop with some of the songwriters whom I admire most in the world. Today’s guest is a Grammy-Award winning Writer, Singer, Producer, Crazy-good Performer, Guitarist and Keyboardist who has written - or co-written some of the coolest songs of the past several decades - songs like, “EYE OF THE TIGER”, “THE SEARCH IS OVER” and “HIGH ON YOU” (all by his band, Survivor), “VEHICLE” (by his first band, “The Ides Of March), “HOLD ON LOOSELY” and “CAUGHT UP IN YOU” (both by 38 Special), “THAT’S WHY GOD MADE THE RADIO” (The Beach Boys), “HEAVY METAL” (Sammy Hagar), “ON THIS DAY” (with this guy named Pomeranz) and countless other hit artists from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Chicago.
The thing that impresses me most, with all his talent and success, is that the messages in his songs - no matter the genre in which he writes - are always positive and hopeful and strong.
