Early Life & Musical Roots

Born in New York City and raised on Long Island, David’s passion for music sparked early—singing duets with his father in synagogue and staging backyard concerts for neighbors.

By age 14, he was writing songs, mastering multiple instruments, and fronting local rock bands.

David's teen years where spent playing in rock bands (including a stint as lead singer in a Cincinnati band that was later to become Pure Prairie League).

At 19, Decca Records signed David to a multi-album solo contract, where he began touring with legends like The Carpenters, Rod Stewart, Steve Martin, George Benson, Steely Dan, and Three Dog Night—carving his own path in the industry.
