As a boy, I was swept away by the unspeakable joy of listening to the music of Fats Domino, Leonard Bernstein, Rodgers and Hammerstein, The Beatles, Dave Brubeck, and Tchaikovsky. Each one and scores of others, literally inspired me, to do what I do.

The emotional depth it carried—drove me to share that joy with others. Simple as that.

There was nothing I wanted more than to sleep, eat, drink, breathe in, and live as close to that feeling as I could. It was a religious experience.
